couch cover - Couchbezug

 I started something big! With cute small details.
Ich habe was grosses angefangen, mit tollen kleinen Details!

For the last few days I sewed a cover for our couch. With two kids.. the surface get´s a little sticky by time. And then I found a matching read fabric on discount, 12€ for all I needed.
In den letzten Tagen habe ich einen Bezug für unser Sofa genäht. Mit zwei Kindern.. sah die Couch nicht mehr richtig schön aus. Und dann habe ich einen passenden Stoff gefunden, 12€ für alles was ich brauchte.

 I topstiched all the edges for a nice fit. Not sure if it won´t shift too much though. With the kids around soon I will know at the end of the day.
Ich habe alle Ecken nochmal abgenäht damit es gut sitzt. Ich bin mir aber nichts ganz sicher ob das wirklich gut hält. Wenn die Kinder zu Hause sind werde ich es schnell rausfinden.

I´m really glad how this turned out. And much faster then I thought, took my just two mornings!
Ich freu mich wirklich wie das geworden ist! Und viel schneller als ich gedacht hätte. Nur zwei Vormittage!

Breadbasket - Brötchenkorb

Fürs frische Frühstück.. da wir hier keine frischen Brötchen vom Bäcker um die Ecke bekommen werden sie jetzt am Wochenende immer zu Hause aufgebacken. Damit die frische Wärme erhalten bleibt kommen sie jetzt immer in diese Körbchen, mit Zudecke.

 Innen drin sind Stücke von einem alten Tischset aus Plastik (Mitte ist 20X20) und zwei Schichten Handtuch.

Die Zudecke ist natürlich ohne extra Füllung, aber auch zwei Stoffschichten.

Draufsetzer - Glascover

So you can protect your juice from guests, and of course cocktails too!

So kann man sich vor Gästen in seinem Saft schützen, geht natürlich auch für Cocktails!

 

Here I found the idea.. and had to try it. After I figuered how to prevent my machine from getting both layers diffrent it was fun and fast. I wanted it to be more adultish, because its a present for the sommercottage. The oilcloth fit well.
Hierher habe ich die Idee.. und musste das gleich ausprobieren. Nachdem ich rausgefunden habe wie ich verhindere, dass meine Maschine die zwei Stoffe unterschiedlich einzieht hat es Spass gemacht und ging schnell. Anstatt Gesichter wollte ich was eher schlichteres, da es sich um ein Geschenk fürs Sommerhäuschen handelt. Das Muster des Wachstuches ist dafür super.

And here you see the inside: to make it a bit strudier i squeezed some felt inside. Then I made a small buttonhole for the straw.
Und hier sieht man das Innere: damit es etwas besser hält habe ich ein bischen filz eingelegt. Am Schluss noch ein kleines Knopfloch für den Strohhalm.

T-shirt refashion 1

Cleaned my cuboard a little.. this one had some paint on it, so it needed to be covered. After I saw this tut it seemed perfect... but where to put the flower?

Ich habe ein bischen in meinem Schrank aufgeräumt.. dieses T-Shirt hatte Farbflecken die überdeckt werden mussten. Nachdem ich dieses Tutorial gesehen habe schien es hierfür perfekt... aber wohin sollte die Blume?

Just in the middle was to boring, on the right (picture left above) would be awkward if worn. So a little bit down.. and one leaf alone. This pleased me best. So the hole shirt is coverded by the motiv.

Nur in der Mitte war zu langweilig, rechts (Bild links oben) hätte angezogen merkwürdig ausgesehen. Weiter unten also.. und ein Blütenblatt oben. Das gefällt mir besonders. So geht das Motiv um das ganze Shirt.

Then I sewed all pieces in place with a normal stich and now I have to wait washing to see how it frays.

Dann noch die einzelnen Lagen mit einem normalen Stich festnähen und warten das mit dem waschen die Blüte ausfransst.

Apron and Oven mitts - Schürze und Ofenhandschuh

For the kitchen I got some sweet "new" stuff! Was tolles Neues für die Küche!

This is a fabric from Ikea, really nice. And I want to get some more orange in the kitchen area. I like how the bird came in the middle of the apron.
Der Stoff ist von Ikea, wirklich gut. Passt, weil ich mehr orange in der Küche haben möchte. Ich finde es toll, wie der Vogel genau in der Mitte der Schürze sitzt.

We really have lots of aprons for the kids, but now I always find the fingers on me... and the prints when baking together. So I decided the really small apron just at the waist I bought on Hawaii (always a nice memory) is not enough. There are so many tutorials, I´ll update when I find the one I liked most. Actually I decided to make the neckholder moveable because I really wanted the apron to cover the shirt on the top too and I didn´t want to straps because there are always so many knots to make when I dress two kids and me.. save what you can.

Wir haben wirklich viele Schürzen, für die Kinder. Aber jetzt haben sie ihre Finger auch an mir.. und dann habe ich die Abdrücke. Deshalb reicht die halbe Schürze um die Hüften nicht mehr von Hawaii (immer eine schöne Erinnerung). Es gibt wahnsinnig viele Anleitungen, ich schreibe wenn ich die wiederfinde, die mir am besten gefallen hat. Ich habe mich entschieden das Band beweglich zu machen damit die Schürze wirklich hoch geht und alles abdeckt und ich wollte keine zwei Bänder, weil eh immer so viele Knoten zu machen sind wenn ich die Kinder und mich anziehe...

The upper sides have a casing in the hem and the strap is threaded trough, so the upper part can be as short or long as desired.
Die oberen Seiten sind eingeschlagen und im Saum ist das Band durchgezogen, dadurch kann der obere Teil verlängert werden wie man es grad braucht.

oven mitts/Handschuh










As I didn´t find cottonbatting in my local shop I decided to unpick the old one and give him just a new cover.
Weil ich keine Baumwollfüllung in meinem Laden vor Ort finden konnte habe ich beschlossen den alten Handschuh aufzutrennen und neu zu beziehen.

And that is the result, inside out. I couldn´t open the side seams because it would have been to small to sew it closed again. So I had to leave the old cover on. I traced the figur on paper and took this as my pattern to cut two pieces from that orange fabric. Sewed the new pieces together and tried it on.

Das ist das Ergebnis, auf links gedreht. Die Seitennähte mussten zu bleiben, weil ich es sonst nicht wieder zusammenbekommen hätte. Also habe ich den alten Bezug drauf gelassen. Die Form habe ich auf Papier abgezeichnet und nach dem Muster zwei Teile ausgeschnitten. Dann habe ich die beiden Teile zusammengenäht und anprobiert.

They fit quite well. Be carefull with the part here, if you sew to much  it will be messy when you turned it. But now you can still correct it.
When I thought it fits well I made a new bindig and sewed it on, no glory for that. But great fun to have a clean "new" ovenmitt!
Es hat gut gepasst. Aufpassen zwischen Daumen und Faust, wenn man hier zu viel näht sieht es unschön aus wenn man den Bezug auf rechts dreht. Jetzt kann man das aber ja noch gut korrigieren.
Dann noch ein neues Schrägband zum einfassen, nichts besonders. Aber es ist toll einen sauberen "neuen" Handschuh zu haben!

Origami

I took out some paper and came up with this.
Habe mal wieder das Papier ausgepackt!

My paper has the same color on both sides, so I took for each part two papers and put them together to regard them as one. Ein kleiner Stern fürs Mädchenzimmer nach dieser Anleitung.

Mein Papier ist von beiden Seiten gleichfarbig, also habe ich für jedes Modul ein pinkes und ein lilanes Blatt aufeinander gelegt und wie ein Blatt behandelt.

This green one ist outside, here too are some butterflies... I really liked this stickers and put them already on several things. Like more stars for friends and this birthday-card. Dieser grüne ist für draussen, auch hier sitzen ein paar Schmetterlinge.. ich fand die Aufkleber wirklich süß und hab schon einiges damit verziert. z. B. noch mehr Sterne für Freunde und diese Geburtstagskarte.

And I tried this with my 3-year old one, it came out quite nice!
Und mit meiner 3-jährigen zusammen Schmetterlinge nach diesem Video, hat wirklich gut funktioniert. Auch bei ihr.
